I think Birkins are ugly, but then I also think lv bags and Burberry bags and several other things which people spend tons of money on are ugly... But that's just my opinion innit. Clealry of people are buying them they must think they look good, just comes down to a matter of taste.

I'd love a bright pink ostrich Birkin.. to me they only look nice left open tho.. Right now the only Hermes I have is a cuff bracelet :D

I was watching one of those behind the scenes programs and they were showing the factory where they make the birkin bags - they showed all the work that goes into making one single bag and I'm not saying this justifies the price but in terms of number of hours it takes to make the bag this isn't something that's mass produced! (48 working hours according to wikipedia).

I have an ostrich one but it’s tan. The pink one is beautiful but a little too out there for me…i’m an old fogie..:naak:…when it comes to bags, i prefer neutral tones, with the odd bright one here and there.

Do you have the chunky gold and leather cuff?

I figure when I will be earning the same $$$ like Angelina Jolie or have a bank balance of Julia Roberts then I will be in the position to follow celebrity trendz. To me if you are carrying a $8000 hand bag then you should be riding in 100K car living in billion dollar mansion ..... because its not the bag / style/ durability tat people carry its the price tag.
