Have seen it quite a few times. These men who just won't do anything without mama, can make a U turn and turn there back completely on mama and hand over their reigns to wives who then control them, like a jockey controls a horse.
May be these people have something that makes them susceptible to be controlled by women.
I disagree. I'd say the reality is more like the wife will always think he's under the mother's control and vice versa. No matter what happens, this is what the women "opposing" each other will think.
