when did that happen? I thought that was his next big project after King Kong? On a personal note, I liked the hobbit more than the LOTR, i.e. the book, I read that book when I was in grade 5, and I found bilbo's character much more entertaining than frodos... Oh and not to mention the fiery dragon in the end, that was a character that only Peter Jackson should be allowed to create in the cinematographic world. Has anyone seen the first animated movie they made called the hobbit? They used some new optical technology back then, it was alright, but they took out some characters, such as that bear-man called beorn

United Artist has decided to pass on PJ and Fran Walsh for “The Hobbit” and the prequel. PJ sued UA for $100 million in unpaid monies from the LOTR trilogy. PJ doesn’t want to discuss the new LOTR projects until lawsuit is settled. UA’s option on the book is expiring soon and now they are looking for another director.
