Already donated to an Islamic agency in Pakistan which can be trusted and with already more than 100,000 aid workers in the ground and yes, it is not a Pakistan government linked agency.

As a caucasian European and revert to Islam I feel however that, there is a negative image problem with Pakistan in the Western main stream society and media and most are inclined to believe that the leadership of Pakistan is headed by a crook with a bad history curriculum of gansterism, killing of western engineer/technicians,land grabbings by intimidation and planned attacks against the population, etc, etc, this kind of info you can see it quite often in papers and news througout the western media and word of mouth at quite high spheres.

With this in mind is sad to see that many donors are just turning to indiference to the calamity/disaster of unprecedented proportions which affects many millions of people which to make things worst are seen as abandoned by its own government.

It is sad but indeed the reality, the English PM Mr. Cameron has contributed greatly to that Global perception, for me to think that Pakistan still has diplomatic relations with the UK is quite a shock as they shall have been severed right there, basically they have been at the cornerstone of all the divide and conquer strategies to manipulate Pakistan since the colonial times.

             Although some people may not give because of their  concerns about corruption, he says those **same concerns existed for  Haiti, where contributions after January's earthquake far outpaced the  rate of giving in the aftermath of Pakistan’s flooding.**
             Whatever the reason, charities are feeling the affect.
             At the Zakat Foundation of America in Chicago,  Executive Director Halil Demir says giving has been “very slow,” with  the charity not even raising 20 percent of what it raised to help  Haitians. “This is very scary that the message is not getting through.”

             For example, MacSorely says **10 days after the  earthquake hit Haiti, there were pledges equal to $495 for each person  affected by the disaster. So far, he says there have been pledges of $3  for each person affected by the flooding.**

according to CNN the following reasons are for the low response:

1. Low Death rate compared to other disasters ( despite 20 million being at risk )
2. Fatigue of constantly hearing Pakistan in the news
3. Corrupt Government
4. Apparent Link to Extremism.

its very sad to see how people are not donating. An area the size of Italy is under water yet people dont seem to care.
Zidari is busy meeting the Russian President in a resort on the Black Sea. Im sure if his Swiss bank was in danger of flooding he would do all he can to protect it.

Another annoying thing is when western journalists ask whether the flooding will increase Extremism in the country. The floods and extremism have got nothing to do with each other.

Im sick of hearing this Zidari's name. Ill be honest, i dont follow the politics in Pakistan but for a guy who is hated by nearly all of the pakistanis, what the hell is he still doing in power? How the hell did he manage to get there in the first place! Just sack the fool and get rid of rubbish. Call for a new president to help rebuild Pakistan....I feel sorry for the people living in Pakistan. They are helpless and no one is giving them the time of day
