Why were the Smilies taken away

The button or whatever its called…why has it been taken away or when will it come back. I dont remember a lot of them unlike some peeplan who I think did their residency here at GS:D

dear Ask99, no, you can see them... when you click on advanced, then you will see their drop down menu.
