This is not the only issue. Marriages are important part of our culture, and like all important parts of my life I would like to sit right beside my wife and daughters.
Marriage is an important part of the Islam too, so some people choose to do it Islamically.
There are other opportunities for our mahrams to sit right beside us other then weddings.
