I still cannot believe that why the pitch had so much grass.
Were they celebrating the st. patrick’s day?
Or was it the the west indian’s coach of theirs who had some hinky business…
Thats why Bob was fighting with them.
Amer Sohail was pretty upset when he said today that he knows there will be no grass on the last game against Ireland and WI.
This is just lame. I think Pakistan was unlucky as well.
That is a very valid question...but not an excuse for losing to a team like Ireland as they were playing on the same pitch.
But yea, Aamir Sohail for once said something which made sense...and he said if there will be the same amount of grass on the pitch for the WI and IRE game? And I think it was Dujon who said well wait and we will find out...and Aamir Sohail said well I've already the got the answer and its No. Valid point raised by Aamir Sohail which the other commentator had no answer for...but like I said before...not an excuse.
all of you are right but again when pak batted they did not had a total to work for. For ireland, it was easier to be defenisve as they were achieving a small total. anyways, its not an excuse. Pakistani players lost their wickets. Except Hafeez, all threw their wickets.
now question goes to why there was grass. This worldcup will emerge as one of the most controversial we have ever seen. A friend of mine who went to watch the games told me that some tabloids are talking about Ian Bishop (I guess he is Ireland Bowling Coach)'s involvement in the pitch-tampering. Their claim is that Ireland had 0% chance to win against Pakistan. In order to make 50/50, grass was introduced in case Pakistan bats first - which they did.
My problem is not with players or teams. Its with ICC and PCB. ICC is just useless.
Ridiculous excuse and point to discuss at the first place. At this level of cricket u r expected to adjust out there in the middle in diff situations, pitches, climate/weather. In 92 Pak won WC in Aus/NZ pitches cant get any better but there.
And as Ehsan pra rightly mentioned Irelander (a part timers who work and only play cricket on weekends) batted on the same pitch. There r times when u r needed to just stay there and they greatly failed.
This is simply an excuse to cover up ur inability …pitch was grassy
Loss against Ireland has more to do with bad shot selections than grass on the wicket. Our batting has taken a dip in last 8-12 months, starting with home ODI series against India. No back up plan and grooming resulted in our demise. These players, including Younis and Yousuf need a batting coach who will not only improve their batting for next four years, but also have show consistency in the line up.
