Why was the US military teaching ‘total war’ on Islam?**

Martin Dempsey has ordered an investigation into how the class was approved for teaching

America's top military officer has condemned a course taught about Islam at one of America's top military schools as "totally objectionable".
It is not surprising. The story, [first broken by Wired](http://www.wired.com/dangerroom/2012/05/total-war-islam/?pid=1196), is fairly astonishing, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, must be furious.
The course taught officers there was no such thing as moderate Islam and that they should consider the religion their enemy.
**It advocated "total war" against all the world's Muslims, including possible nuclear attacks on the holy cities of Mecca and Medina and the wiping out civilian populations.
The Pentagon has confirmed the course material found on their website is authentic. **

‘Something weird’ As far as I can see this is not intended in any sense as a rather sick academic exercise in stretching the bounds of what could be thought. It is actually what the officer teaching it believes.
In other words: completely nutty stuff that would disgrace the wilder fringes of the blogosphere.
So, not surprisingly, Gen Dempsey has ordered a full investigation into what other US military schools might be teaching about the religion.
The voluntary course aimed at senior officers was taught at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia, for a year. It was stopped last month after one student complained.
Gen Dempsey described the course as “counter to our values of appreciation for religious freedom and cultural awareness” and “just objectionable, academically irresponsible”.
It came to light when one of the officers on the course complained. There is now an investigation into how the course was approved and why it was part of the curriculum.
A lieutenant colonel has been suspended from teaching, but for the moment keeps his job. The Pentagon hopes a full report will be out by the end of the month.
What does seem rather surprising is that all those commanders, captains and colonels must have sat through the course and not felt the need to tell someone that something rather weird was going on.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

That's why we need more Muslims in US army.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

^^ Totally agree with you. That said it does not absolve the leadership of the US army to have these kind of courses. The people who taught these courses must be court martialled immediately. They must not be allowed to continue in the army any longer.

Re: Why was the US military teaching ‘total war’ on Islam?

This little course is nothing compared to how the pentagon have planned and executed plans to control entire muslim world for decades. Only a fool would say United States Inc is not at war with the muslim world. The facts are in front of your face how many US military bases in muslim world? how many muslim lands bombed or occupied now and in past? how many of the brutal and corrupt rulers in bed with washington?

They don’t care if you have masjid or your women wear a headscarf or your name is abdul, what they want are the resources and the lands in their hands no other nation will be allowed to have it and they couldn’t care less how many people die in the process.

Muslim world not exclusive to this agenda Africa is next go see (http://www.africom.mil) they want africa and want the chinese out so here come the bombs in markets, kidnappings, and the rest of the chaos untill they reign supreme we seen this story played out many times before nothing new.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

I would say that if there are Muslim rulers in bed with Washington in its nefarious agenda then Muslims need to get rid of these rulers first before condemning Washington.

BTW, who do you think are some of those rulers?

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

All of them, literally!

Re: Why was the US military teaching ‘total war’ on Islam?

And when I comment against war in the heat of the moment, I get told no girl, US & Co. is out to liberate the world of all evil.

disgusting, despicable, depressing, dumb thing

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

It makes sense, the way Americans have proceeded in the so called war on terror with disregard for innocents being killed along with few terrorists (both within Afghanistan and Pakistan) all seem to be a greater plan for the region or maybe the larger Islamic world.

Re: Why was the US military teaching ‘total war’ on Islam?

Some of Dooley’s material is given by Wired.com:
**
*For the better part of the last decade, *a small cabal of self-anointed counterterrorism experts **has been working its way through the U.S. military, intelligence and law enforcement communities, trying to convince whoever it could that *America’s real terrorist enemy wasn’t al-Qaida **— but the Islamic faith itself. In his course, Dooley brought in these anti-Muslim demagogues as guest lecturers. And he took their argument to its final, ugly conclusion.
*
*
*
This course was the representation of Zionist neo-con view of Islam and Muslims. We know such people exist, especially in their military and protestant churches.
But I would not blame the whole American government for their views. As soon as some student reported the course, it was taken out. Dooley is not teaching anything at this moment but it would be better if he kicked out altogether. And there are calls for doing just that.

Simply paint all Americans as a Zionist / neo-con would be wrong. There are many who disagree with such views. And there is a struggle going on there between them:

http://usnews.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2012/05/11/11659853-outrage-calls-for-action-over-anti-muslim-materials-in-military-training?lite
Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) calls for the immediate dismissal of Lt. Col. Dooley, as well as an immediate condemnation, deeply probing investigation, and swift trial by courts-martial of those responsible for allowing content advocating genocide to be used to indoctrinate future leaders within the U.S. armed forces," he told msnbc.com.
**
MRFF has .pdf"]filed request under the Freedom of Information Act](http://msnbcmedia.msn.com/i/MSNBC/Sections/NEWS/z_Personal/Huus/JFSC_MRFF_FOIA_05-10-20121) seeking to surface all communication and documentation about the Perspectives course. Weinstein, a former Air Force judge advocate general, or JAG, and lawyer in the Reagan White House, believes the course is merely a symptom of a larger problem. In recent years he has campaigned against the military’s invitation of speakers that are known for virulent anti-Islam views.

This is simply a small cancer cell that is rapidly metastasizing," he said. "This is representative of a larger more sinister force which is fundamentalist Christianity.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

America is in a grip of Zionists, who are colluding with Christian neo-cons to declare war against Islam and Muslims in general. Dooley represents this group.

The best response for Muslims is to develop their economies without dependence on America. We need to look East towards Asia.
But I highly doubt if it is possible with the leaders we have. And common people like us can make noises but in the end it will be of no avail.

What troubles me is that when many Muslims listen to these Muslim-haters in the US then their reaction is to support the extremist ideologists among us.** They start supporting people like Taliban or Qaeda**.

We need Muslims who are anti-Zionists and anti-Talibanics at the same time. We need reformers who work for betterment of our people without American help.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

Americans should conduct operations against these kind of neocon elements as these are as dangerous as alqaeda. They should do more to eliminate extremism in their midst.

Re: Why was the US military teaching ‘total war’ on Islam?

Here we are not talking about some rogue elements teaching these kind of extremist ideologies, this was being taught as an elective course by Pentagon for years (not a few months). This course was being taught from 2004 and at least 800 students have taken it over the years.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

nothing new, only the timing is interesting...

its like a controlled disclosure and giving an indirect threat...

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

It is these neo-cons in Republican party who are becoming danger to America itself. They are ideologues just like fasadis among Muslims, and so unwilling to compromise. They almost made America default recently.
These religious neo-cons want the Armageddon to happen so that Jesus Christ return to establish God's kingdom.

If these neo-cons have their way then America will come down quick. The downfall has already started. Now everyone says that this century is Chinese century.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

Conspiracy theory?!

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

The fault lies with Islamic world... If you can rape amreeka or have the capability - amreeka becomes a very ciivilized lil terrorist. If not than be prepared to get rape and then labled a terrorist.

PS: Real world living examples can be provided on request.

*Long live 'our' Gulf Baastards *
By Pepe Escobar
Asia Times

Life is a golden gift from Allah if you're a certified member of the Gulf Counter-Revolution Club (GCC), also known as the Gulf Cooperation Council; Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates can torture, kill, repress and demonize their own subjects - in full confidence the "master" will let you get away with it.

Just as the Sunni al-Khalifa dynasty in power in Bahrain is vowing, publicly, to keep arresting, tear-gassing, raiding their homes, confiscating their jobs and forcing pro-democracy protesters to live in non-stop fear, Bahraini Crown Prince Salman bin Hamad al-Khalifa is being hosted in Washington by the Barack Obama administration.

Prince Salman - who Bahraini propaganda sells as a "moderate" - showed up at the US State Department side-by-side with Secretary of State Hillary "We came, we saw, he died" Clinton. Those who "die" are evil dictators of the Muammar Gaddafi variety; "our" *******s get to party in DC after being extended a red carpet welcome.

Is there any Arab Spring-related repression and killing going in Bahrain? According to Clinton, of course not; these are only "internal issues" - in her own words.

What this means in practice is that Clinton subscribes to the official narrative that the sectarianization of everything happening in Bahrain is to be blamed on the protesters - and not the al-Khalifas, who for a year now have been destroying Shi'ite mosques and investing on all-out demonization of all things Shi'ite (blame it on "evil" Iran).

The al-Khalifas have been way wilier than President Bashar al-Assad in Syria; they have killed only an acceptable number of people. But why is Bahrain substantially "different" from Syria? Because "it hosts the US Navy's 5th Fleet, helping the US military project its might in the Gulf and contain Iran"; and that's not a neo-conservative talking, but Washington director of Human Rights Watch, Tom Malinowski.

A bunch of cowards

Here is Libya conqueror Clinton:

Bahrain is a valued ally of the United States. We partner on many important issues of mutual concern to each of our nations and to the regional and global concerns as well. I'm looking forward to a chance to talk over with His Royal Highness a number of the issues both internally and externally that Bahrain is dealing with and have some better understanding of the ongoing efforts that the government of Bahrain is undertaking. So again, His Royal Highness, welcome to the United States.
Here's a Bahraini government spokesman telling it like it is to Reuters only one day before the Clinton-Crown Prince schmooze:
We are looking into the perpetrators and people who use print, broadcast and social media to encourage illegal protest and violence around the country. If applying the law means tougher action, then so be it.
Translation: we will keep going on a rampage because the masters in Washington have our backs covered.

Not a word from the Obama administration on the arrest of top Bahraini human-rights activist Nabeel Rajab, who Amnesty International declared a "prisoner of conscience", as well as calling for his immediate release. Activist Abdulhadi Alkhawaja, for his part, has been on a hunger strike for three months, protesting his life imprisonment by the al-Khalifa regime.

R2P, "responsibility to protect", that oh so lovely doctrine espoused by the Three Graces - Clinton, US ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice and Special Assistant to Obama Samantha Power - does not apply to civilian protesters, the majority of them Shi'ites, in Bahrain. They have been yelling for their basic human rights - of which they don't have much - to be protected for over a year now.

Bahrain's Prime Minister Khalifa bin Salman al Khalifa - whose Medieval methods would lead Egyptian Omar "Sheikh al-Torture" Suleiman to blush with envy, not to mention Prince Nayef from the House of Saud - has been in power for 40 years.

And Bahrain's King Hamad has been oh so generous; after all he commissioned a report on the repression. Needless to say, the report, even highly sanitized, hasn't been implemented.

What makes it even more tragic is that these people are cowards. It would take just a single word from Clinton or Obama for the al-Khalifas to immediately stop their concerted repression, using their hardcore Sunni police force recruited from Pakistan, Syria and Yemen; release the thousands of prisoners; and rehire the thousands of workers who were laid off because they are "subversive". Here's why.

There has been a rumor in Britain that Nasser Bin Hamad, the son of Bahrain's King, might be banned from attending the London Summer Olympic Games this summer. There are graphic reasons for it; he personally threatened many athletes, on top of being accused of torture. So what did he do? In haste, he deleted all his threatening tweets. Expect Nasser to be partying in Mayfair in July.

Re: Why was the US military teaching 'total war' on Islam?

It is very simple .Every country need some reason for its military spending . After socialist era they need an anime . No country is so big that they can declare that an enime so they are targeting many Muslim countries to tell American about big anime .
