At one time, I was having dinner with a good muslim friend of mine, who is Ma’shallah both intelligent and religious. He asked me “Why do you believe that there is only one God?”
Now I could have given him a religious answer, but feeling like a hustler I responded on the basis of logic:
If you believe that God is the supreme being,
then how could a supreme being be subservient to itself?
If there are two Gods, which one is better? If they are both equal? then how are they supreme? Logically inconsistent.
Why are there useless threads arising where our beliefs can mess up? It’s really sad. Please stop thinking about this. If you are a true believer, then just believe in the First Kalima. Stick to it. It is all satan, who is putting all evil thoughts into a human. These are murder thoughts.
Think, Allah Tallah is God. We are humans. Being a human being, doesn’t have that knowledge to think and know about that.
My dad advices me never to lay down in the bed, except sleeping. We mostly get evils thoughts. These all the thoughts arise from satan. I used to lay down in the bed, and I got evils thoughts . It’s really hard for me to control them.
SuperMe, if perhaps there was a logical reason, wouldnt that make it easier to preach Islam and strengthen our faith? I think wanting proof is natural and not the least bit sacrilegious, since if its really the truth its gotta have proof :D
Hustler, ur reasoning is ok, but let me make an analogy... Man is Gods finest creation right, but there are many of us. SO (nauzubillah) perhaps the polytheist argue that "GOD" is a "supreme species" rather than a "supreme individual"?
I think it’s actually good to question your beliefs because
i) it strengthens your faith
ii) it exposes any flaws in your faith.
Many people just blindly follow their religion, which is why they so easily miss all the flaws that their religion may have. By questioning things and understanding, you can decide whether or not you are on the right path.
In the Quran, Allah has said:
This shows that you should think about what the Quran says and try to understand it, rather than just follow it blindly.
Dont follow you buddy… If god was created he couldnt be creator? Man was created yet man creates…it is possible for a creator to be created so I dont really follow what you said
Pakap...
There must have been a start point...thats my point...if god was created then that would mean his creator would be god...Theres a distinction between creator and creation...God would not be god if he was a creation...
Surah Al-Mu'minun ayah 91:
"No son (or offspring) did Allah beget, nor is there any illah(god) along with him.(if there had been many gods),then each god would have taken away what he had created. And some would have tried to overcome others!Glorified is Allah above all that they attribute to Him!"
Good points and I was wrong. Also, I agree that there is nothing wrong with reciting Bible. We learn even more from Bible. I have recited few lines in Bible, and I have disagreed with some points. They have changed something. Like, Christians have changed this line. It's not accurate, but I have read it 3 years ago. "Alcohol is not permitted, but there should be a limit". This is totally changed. How much limit is it? Jaza Kallah Khair for correcting me.
One or two or more ! Dont bother yourself, keep doing the good actions and take good care of what he/they created-nature & fellow human beings. You cannot go wrong this way !!
Upparwala sab thik karega...... Hmm 'upparwala' and not 'wale'.
Concluded, theres only one God.

Thanks. See when you bring in that analogy, you might find people (non Muslims, I hope) who do not agree that man is Gods finest creation. I am not an Islamic scholar however it is debatable that man is indeed the finest creation of God. Angels, Prophets perhaps are a bit better than us. So that analogy might cause another side debate.

Dearest Brother,
Some of us live in Non Muslim socieities where the person we are discussing this may proscribe to different belief systems than us. So it is important to keep our imaan in Tauheed, it doesn't hurt to bring in logic to support your beliefs.

think about it if there are two judges in the court room, they will never agree completely on any decision they come up with.
If there were two gods, same would happen to them as it happens to us
KILL EACH OTHER.
I don't believe in multiGod system, Its hard enough to keep believing in One.
But I just wanted to say that you are comparing God with the qualities of men. Do you really think God will act like a man and has the same emotions ie jealosy, hatred, greed of power.
