Many men start online job/business with full of the dream in eyes. But the majority of them fail to make money as they expect. Why?
Just my opinion: There are many reasons for this, but it will all fall down on your will, desire, perseverance, and willingness to learn more. At the sight of failing some just give it up and go back to the secured job they have and closing the chances of ever being successful in this field. The majority are the failure but of course pieces of success waiting to be put together.

Its a good question.
A small correction to the original post is many 'women' start online business too.
I think online business requires a lot of hassle. And it has to be done very intelligently. Also you are competing with pretty much entire world so a small mistake and you are out.
