i came across some ‘miracle predictions’ in another topic ( Does Allah Exist?). What strikes me is how one member interpreted some verses widly. I have some serious reservations regarding some of them. of course their ongoing debate wasnt to be interrupted so i created this new one. ok here are the few verses that were cited.
FINGER PRINTS
“Their skins will bear witness against them as to what they have been doing” (41:21)
Now the entire verse is as follows : ‘…enemies of God will be brought together and led into Fire, so that when they enter it, **their ears, their eyes and their skins will testify to their misdeeds.’ **
What prints do you have on your ears? Reading this verse nowhere implies fingerprint identity or any of the sort.
The second ‘miracle’ reads as follows:
**Pollution **
“Corruption has spread on land and sea because of what men’s hands have wrought” (30:42)
Again, the verse here was taken out of context. If you read the preceding and the following verses, it would become clear that the matter being discussed is idol worship and the allusion to pollution, ozone layer depletion etc is way out of the question here.
The third miracle :
ROADS IN MOUNTAINS
[INDENT]“And when the mountains are made to move.” (81:4)
The entire verse reads as follows : ’ When the sun ceases to shine; when the stars fall and the mountains are blown away/made to move…’
Totally out of context here. Allah is describing apocalypse, not advancements in road building. In fact the surah is rightly called ’ The Cessation’.
The fourth miracle:
ZOO
**“And when the wild beasts are gathered together.” **(81:6)
Note the above verse is a continuation of the previous verse i.e. the total destruction of earth and in no way implies a Zoo..lol
the fifth miracle
BOOKS PUBLISHED AND SPREAD
“And when books are spread abroad.” (81:11)
Again note that the verse is the continuation of the preceding verses which describe the events before the day of judgement. in fact the translation I have reads as follows :
’ When the sun ceases to shine; when the stars fall and the mountains are blown away; when camels big with young are left untended; and the wild beasts are brought together; when the seas are alight and men’s souls are reunited; when the infant girl, buried alive, is asked for what crime she was slain; when the records of men’s deeds are laid open, and heaven is stripped bare…’
These interpretation are no different from the ones that westernes cite to forward their propoganda against Islam. I think this an insult to the Holy Book itself, coming up with miralcles such as zoos and roads in the mountains. So what prompted the original poster to post these miracles without even varifying them?
