Why the Current Mid-East peace plan will collapse

Re: Why the Current Mid-East peace plan will collapse

Easy to say as you type at a keyboard, I suspect if your teenage daughter blew herself up for “the cause” you might think different.

The worst enemy of the Palestinians seem to be Muslim “brothers” who live abroad.

Re: Why the Current Mid-East peace plan will collapse

The worst enemy of the Palestinian’s is the zionist supporter living abroad. Try living with the Palestinian’s under occupation, and let us see how you like it, but until then carry on quoting invisble people to your defense.

Re: Why the Current Mid-East peace plan will collapse

Hamas is a great organization as it has stuck to its principles all along; removal of Israelis from the Occupied lands. I believe, if Israel had obliged by the Oslo accord and withdrew along the 67' borders, Hamas would have given up on striking back at Israel. Under present circumstances, Israel is taking a breakaway approach. The problem with that plan was that Hamas would have completely taken over Gaza, in case Israel had withdrawn without any dependable force that could control the Palestinean territories. The first obstacle was Yasir Arafat who would have not compromised on the issue of return of refugees, and East Jerusalem being the capital of the independent Palestinean state - the only thing I admire about him. His demise was clearly under mysterious circumstances. Now with Mahmood Abbas in place, and support from Egypt, Israelis are hoping that all the ground work is well in place to withdraw from Gaza, and take over most of the West Bank. The cities with majority Palestinean population in the West Bank are literally being converted into massive jails surrounded by barriers and walls. Gaza has been like this for many years.

Negating all the violence at current levels, which is likely to continue on. I don't forsee any chances of a civil war amongst the Palestineans. Through all the hardships, a lesson they have learnt that any such clashes would only play into the hands of the Israelis. Through better or worse, there haven't been such incidences on a wider scalce in the recent past. For now, the deal seems to be that Hamas and other freedom fighter groups will control the local level governance, and Abbas and Fatah will take over at the federal level. The positions well suited to each group respectively. Local governance in the majority of the Palestinean populated areas is out of anyone's hands except Hamas. On the national level, no other government will deal with Hamas.

I would wait to see what happens after the Israeli uproot all the settlements from Gaza. But, violence will not be far away.

Re: Why the Current Mid-East peace plan will collapse

the current state of play in palestine is clearly an amerikkkan agenda with israel to consolidate the plan to dominate the middle east for them an acceptance of palestine giving up al quds aswell as other major chunks of land would allow the amerikkkans to focus on Iran, Syria and Saudi.

If the amerikkkans are kept busy in iraq and palestine they cannot focus to much on the others. The amerikkkans clearly turn up the heat and turn down the heat when their intrests are at stake so why should the countries if they had any sense play to thier tune and make it easy for them but with puppets like abbas it is made consideribly easier for them.

Selective reading once again.
“Hamas claimed responsibility for the mortar attacks, saying it was avenging the deaths of two Palestinians on Wednesday”
The so called cease fire is a ‘you stop I stop’ scenario. Both Israel and the Palestinian freedom fighters have said in statements that if there are attacks from the opposing side, they will reply. Thats what happened here. It will take time to relax the fingers of the trigger happy israeli occupation forces. Ever wonder how the news of the murder of these 2 palestinians never made the news, even though it happened yesterday? and now todays response by Hamas, even though casualty free, has made wide headlines?

What exactly are jewish kids taught in schools and synagogues? That they have been deprived of their land for 5000 years, and they must take it by hook or by crook or by force, and that kicking people out, or killing them in order to get ‘your’ land vacated is your ‘right’.

Occupation can never last in any part of the world, no matter how you sugarcoat the situation. Israelis have made their bread and butter out of 2 words for the past 57 years. holocaust, and anti-semitism, and frankly, now the world at large is tired of it. Noone will admit it but its true.

Re: Why the Current Mid-East peace plan will collapse
