Unfortunately it goes beyond leadership PA. Palestinian schools teach its students to demonify and hate Israel. The fanatic whose goal is to destroy Israel has been given a pedestal to preach their hate. The fanatics, often spurred by outsiders, call anyone who offers peaceful overture to Israel a traitor or American stooge.
I was in an Israel cab talking to driver about the peace process and said how it would be nice if peace with the Palestinians was achieved he said, "Once peace with the Palestinians is achieved then we can get on with the real fighting." What he meant was that the internal collision between the religious right of Israel and the more secular Israel clash on how the country is to be run but right now such matters are on the backburner as Israel is united for what they see as their survival against the Arab world. The same internal fight will happen between the Palestinians and it very well might be a bloody one, the question is whether it will come before or after Peace with Israel can be made.
