Just don't.
The over possessiveness stems from deeper issues in certain cases. Fear of being dumped, insecurity about themselves etc etc.

yea..some guys are quiet possesive...start putting up bans for the girls..no talking to male colleagues etc.make them girls start covering their heads(yes!!)..my friend's brother inlaw doesnt even like taking his wife to buy shoes...he doesnt like it when the salesmen look at her feet!blah blah...

Such possessiveness doesn't occur if you do fully trust your partner.
You know my husband is in a different country & the liberty to do what he may please to, he also has many female friends. I often see pictures of group meets on facebook as well but never have I suspected his intention. You have to fully trust your partner to be less possessive.

Human nature. Anybody saying possessiveness is anything but that must be a single child. Everybody is possessive. Its natural. What is unnatural is when people place limits on others due to their own insecurities. Being jealous natural. Telling a guy or gal they can't meet people from the opposite gender. That is not normal.

They tend to feel jealous sometimes if there's a part of your life that they don't know about. Make them familiar or talk to them about it and they won't mind.
If it's a case of breaking trust then it's still something which needs to be talked about openly and honestly, its really does cause problems when both parties ignore the issue and don't talk about what they feel insecure about etc etc

A bit of it is reasonable and even flattering....but it becomes problematic when you can't trust your partner and respect their need to have other interests and relationships. Women can also be possessive...the trait is not confined to one gender.
