I personally think that if dasti is being elected by his voters then telling the voters that we cannot accept your candidate because he does not have a degree, is not democracy. Its dictatorship. If my candidacy is halqa 245 that includes villages and remote areas, how the heck can I produce a graduate from that area where no one ever went to school. The only option would be to force someone from outside of their halqa on them as a MNA or MPA. Is that fair? Would that person know anything about the problems of that rural area?
No one gave a damn to education system in Pakistan for last 60 years. Our education budget was always less than 3% of annual budget, but all of a sudden we want graduates sitting in the parliament. How ridiculous of an expectation is that (not saying that to you Asif, just saying it in general)
