In cwcup Shoab Akhtar is said to be the fastest bowler of the world but what is the use because he only likes his speed but not his bowl. in comparing him with Shane Bond and Brad Lee, their bowl got the movement and they dont bowl for there speed only.

Akhtar moves the ball more then Lee and Bond. Yes, at times he has been obsessed with just the speed but I think everyone is coming a little bit too hard on Shoaib. He is not a God. He has a very impressive one day record and though at times he has dissapointed with his performance but remember he has also made us proud by some of his deadly spells. In the last match in England he bowled beautifully. At times he was almost unplayable. His stats in that match might not show you anything as he went wicketless and gave 50 odd runs but I think that was one of the most unluckiest you'll see a fast bowler get. He bowled his heart out that day and was extremely unlucky that he couldnt win the match for us. Inzi failed miserably at the world cup too, that doesnt mean we can write him off and say he is a bad batsman. If Shoaib can shut his mouth he is an excellent bowler and hopefully he will improve his attitude (maybe get a few tips from Sami about good attitude) and play his role of the main strike bowler.

Ok Shoaib cuts on his pace and gets the control. So what ? what do we have ?
Everything that has a positive side has a negative side as well if not used properly. Shoiab Akhtar is the "fastest" bowler. You have to build on your strengths. He is supposed to bowl fast. If he cuts down on this pace what would be the difference between him and Parsad.
Yes I do agree that he needs to have control and bowl with line and length but he has to bowl the fastest. That is what makes him SHOAIB AKHTAR. That is why people take notice. Other wise what is the difference between me and him. Trust me I can bowl with a lot of control. I mean you can find another hundred bowlers who can bowl with a lot of control at a lesser pace.
So do not moan and ask him to cut on the pace instead ask him to get his control back with the same pace…may be even a little more would not a bad sight for my eyes….
The Control he had during the WC99.
The control and pace that made the Australian Captain Ricky Ponting take notice and admit that yes it was a “problem ” for the “Australians” if some one bowled at such pace with such control. After Pakistan beat them at home in a one day series.
Tendulkar has faced a lot of well directed yorkers but what was exceptional about the delivery , apart from line and length that gave Tendulkar the golden duck.
More recently in the WC when Tendulkar was playing “one of the best one day inning ” against Pakistan on a good batting pitch where the bowl was doing nothing for the bowlers, what was it in the end that brought the dismissal of
Tendulkar. You do not see Tendulkar dismissed in that fashion everyday ?

Yes...shoaib should concentrate on speed...
that will certainly help him save some bucks on richshaws and taxis in pakistan , if he gets fired from the cricket squad..
