Why read Quran? We can't understand it

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

if i find the reference i will cite it. however, could you bring forth any ruling of a scholar which actually states tht the given hadith is fabricated?

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

What given hadith? Bring the hadith first, and then I will see if it is or isn't.

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

you said that the isnad is weak, then you must have seen it. so cite it.

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

One should Read the Quran in Arabic as that is God's Words but to fully understand the message of the Quran you must read it in a language you can understand it in

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

^^ You cannot fully understand Arabic literature (i.e. writing techniques; metaphors) translated into another language, because they won't make sense once translated into another language.

No I didn't. I said I have never heard of it, and it sounds unbelievable. So, I won't believe it until I see it, and until it is confirmed that its authentic.

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

Ali Ibn Abi Talib reported that when the Prophet's daughter, Fatima came to him and asked him for a servant, he said to her and Ali: “Shall I not teach you something that will be better for you than a servant? When you go to bed, say 'SubhanAllah' thirty-three times, 'Al-hamdulillah' thirty-three times, and
'Allahu Akbar' thirty-four times. This is better for you than a servant.” [Saheeh al-Bukharee and Saheeh Muslim]

There is a similar hadith where the Prophet (saw) adviced hz Ali a.s. to perform Hajj, Jihad etc before sleeping through the recitation of surahs. I'll look up for that particular hadith inshAllah.

Re: Why read Quran? We can’t understand it

What does this have to do with Hajj?

Perform Hajj by reciting Surah(s) befoer sleeping? :naraz:

And, please provide the exact referrence to the Hadith, not just the name of the book (which doesn’t help much).

Re: Why read Quran? We can’t understand it

Well if reciting Surah Fatiha can be a cure for every illness, I have no problem in accepting that it also carries the reward of Hajj. or some other surah for tht matter.

The site i got tht from only mentions Sahih Bukhari and Muslim. and thts enough i guess.

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

So your saying that if I recite Surah Fatiyah, I am exempted from performing Hajj, and that it has the exact same reward ?

And, can you also provide referrence to it being a cure for every illness?
Thanks

Enough, maybe for someone who doesn't care if its right or wrong. How do you know such a thing even exists in there, just because some website mentioned it?

Re: Why read Quran? We can’t understand it

No, you are not exempted from ‘performing’ Hajj. ‘Performing Hajj’ is obligatory. You only get the ‘reward’ from reciting it.

In fact thts O level Islamiat. I have always known abt this. So its no suprise for me.

Go to the above site. Do you have Sahih Bukhari?

Re: Why read Quran? We can’t understand it

I won’t believe it until I see it.

Well its not surprising to me that you don’t know the referrence.

Yes, I do. Its quite a big book, and that is precisely why I ask you for the exact referrence, and not just the name of the book.

If you know its true, then u must also know the exact place where its written… unless you were following blindly.

Re: Why read Quran? We can’t understand it

:hmmm:…the topic changed…the initial post was directed to something else…& now the posts r directed to something else..:cb:

I gave the reference for the hadis i cited. The probability that the site is lieing abt the reference is quite low.

. Does that book have contents? Are there hadis arranged according to subjects? If do then please check for that.

Lastly, the point is, reciting the surah is of great rewards. Hajj, Zakat, emancipating slaves is of great rewards and that is the reason the recitaton of the surahs is equated to such rewards. :)

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

Wow, I would be happy to know if you can give a reference of an experiment carried out in controlled conditions to prove it. I mean "every illness" is sure a huge claim.

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

No, you gave referrence to a very large book. You didn't tell us where in the book. How do I know if it even exists in the book? How do YOU know if it even exists?

Re: Why read Quran? We can't understand it

THis

No I didn't. I said I have never heard of it, and it sounds unbelievable. So, I won't believe it until I see it, and until it is confirmed that its authentic.
