Re: Why Punjabi is not taught in Pakistani schools?
Recently, a friend read a book on Iqbal. The book hilights that Iqbal was more tilted towards Central Asian culture and heroes like Mehmood and loved Bukhara, Samarqand, etc more than local heroes and cities. His poetry doesn’t include reference to local culture and traditions and inspite of all this he is Pakistan’s national poet.
Although, I don’t completely agree to this, but this view does contain a weight.
