There isn’t any demand from the inferiority complexed people of punjab. The ‘‘modern’’ or wannabe “modern” people don’t speak punjabi at home at all. So, if the kids are not speaking punjabi at home, they won’t want it in school either. Its a pity really, punjab is the only province where even the transcript hasn’t been finalized.

The punjabis who made greatest contribution to Urdu poetry, did sh!t for their mother tongue. That says a lot about it.

As far as poetry is concerned, I think Punjabi got good poets. be it traditional poets like Ustad Daman, Tariq Aziz (even Faiz Saheb wrote some Punjabi poems) or filmi poetry. Majority of Pakistani movies were made in Punjabi.

I do agree with you in respect of Transcript and medium of instruction. Even Saraki (as spoken in Sindh) got different transcript.
