I was shocked when I came to know that an Army Officer is not supposed to come to the office in Govt Jeep, that is considered as misuse and corruption and when I compare this with civil department where a civil officer take the govt jeep to his home and use govt Petroleum for his family and his personal visits and ayyashis.

what i am convinced is that transparency in financial matters wiill absolve army of the blaming which comes in it way due to needless security envelope and expose the corrupt Mafia both civilan & in uniform who are maliging army for their vested interests. My ex-class fellows and friends in army are now disgusted at what is being daily charged on army. The junior lot is neither that priviliged and bears the brunt of criticism while meeting common people. Khushaal is right that in a cantonment army officers below the rank of brigadier go to office in their own transport as govt gives them 1200 rupees a month if they own a car and 640 rupees if they do not own one as conveyance allowance. The houses look good because of good care which army takes, their counterpart civilain houses must have been rebuilt thrice in that period. ( in my experience taking care of the stuff is hall mark of Army) Few days before i passed in front of kharian cantt and decided to stop at a friends place for a chat. The refreshing scene you see once you enter the cantt with big chestnut trees lining both side of the main road is a treat to watch and evident that these people still have not forgotten the way to live like the rest of the country where same British era trees are being uprooted in name of development.
what i mean to say is please criticize the particular issue rather than blanket criticism. now what about debating the details of deals, any more views?
