Re: Why Pakistanis CANT dance???
I think it's because dance is not seen as an artform. If you look at our neighbouring countries art has a sacredness attached to it including the various dance forms. It is seen as a way in getting in touch with spirituality and in the end the Divine Power itself. Dance in PK has been degraded to something really vulgar; the paak of this artform has been totally taken out. Now dance means to do the most vulgar things or a time pass at fashion shows or the cheap fanfare of drama launching....
Furthermore Pakistani "so-called artists" just copy the moves from Bollywood or MTV. It doesn't come from deep down within them or their cultural roots. In order to do a very beautiful dance you have to burn for it and have the right junoon which is quite lacking in our showbiz culture....
Have you guys seen traditional dances of Pakistan? Now that's what I call art and not this lallu-panju stuff you see in TV. For instance I'm a Baloch and we have our traditional folk-dances which we perform with pride like our other brothers and sisters in the other provinces of Pakistan who have their beautiful dances. That's the stuff that needs to be promoted; the various folk-loric dance forms which is true art.....just my opinion. That's the true beauty.
Pakistanis CAN dance but not those lallu-panju showbiz walla...
