Why is a Man allowed to have up to four wives in Islam?
Why in Islam women can’t have more than one husband by Dr Zakir Naik
My Question to fellow Muslim Pakistanis is why is it considered immoral in your home for a man to have more than one wife?
And what can be done to change this unislamic idealogy?
Re: Why Pakistani societies won’t accept idea of plural marriage
I don’t think it’s so much a matter of thinking of it as a immoral or a sin…as it is that it’s within our human nature not to want to share your spouse. Many men would not savor the idea of their wife being attracted to another man, much less to take on another husband.
Moreover, while it’s allowed in Islam..let’s face it…the reason behind the Prophet’s SAWS marriages were more nobler than the lesser men of today. He SAWS was faithful to his his first wife who was several years older than him and after her passing, he was given the choice of marrying an older woman or a younger, more beautiful one. And he picked the older one because he wanted a mother for his children.
Also, Allah says in the Quran that you men will not be able to do justice between multiple wives…and justice is the condition. So that same Rabb knows the nature of men so well.
Anyhow, Humanityfirst, if you’re married…do you have a second wife? Or are you planning to get one? If you’re not in that situation, then you know what they say…you should make the change or tabdeeli in yourself first before wanting to see that tabdeeli in others. :halo:
Re: Why Pakistani societies won’t accept idea of plural marriage
Why don’t you start the discussion by telling us why men (like yourself) claim to follow Islam and marry more than once…but they want their 2nd wife to be YOUNGER than themselves. That’s a very specific requirement you posted on the ads you’ve written here looking for a 2nd wife. Why does she have to be younger than you? Prophet SAW married women older than him who also happen to be widows. So why are YOU not open to marrying a woman who is 35/40 or even 45? Are you open to having a 2nd wife who is a divorcee? A widow? A divorcee or widow who already has a child?
Re: Why Pakistani societies won’t accept idea of plural marriage
You cannot compare a mere human male with weaknesses and that would fall to temptation to the Prophet Mohammad.
Is monagamy truly that difficult for a man? I’m really asking because I’ve seen two of my friends with men that can’t stay faithful.

Yo why would you want multiple wives, having one girlfriend is hard enough let alone trying to deal with 4
Re: Why Pakistani societies won’t accept idea of plural marriage
Who said polygamy is an unconditional right in Islam? It isn’t. Polyandry is as stupid as polygamy. Both of these are against human nature. The reasoning for polygamy in Islam is very practical for that time and era. But, as per Islam, there is no space for it in this era of vast human population.
