Yes, okay fine, we love Zimbabwe, we like their people, we are going to go and play cricket with them, fine and dandy, great news. But when I think of a team representing the National Cricket Academy, I am thinking fresh blood, new faces, youngsters who have potential, who have talent and who can survive on merit (is there such a thing?) But at least do this team a favor and send in the cricketers who actually do have a chance of making the Pakistan team in the near future. The list of tried-and-tested is all too old, too long and washed up. I think the selectors gave a strong impression this year by selecting a host of new faces against Zimbabwe, and a few have shined. Now that we are going back to play with them, give another chance to the same youngsters who were a part of the team and squad before - not someone who have stuck around forever. Wahab Riaz, Khurram Manzoor, Kamran Hussain, Nasir Jamshed, Sohail Khan, Khalid Latif, Rizwan Ahmed, heck Yasir Arafat. Send a team whom we can pick out from, rather than sending a discarded card. Since the first-choice team will represent in the Champions Trophy during that team, gather the individuals who have the potential to make it to the team for upcoming series later in the year and next year.
Pakistan should not send a discarded card to this event. Above comments are related to this story.
