Why Paki girls don't take matters into their own hand?

Re: Why Paki girls don't take matters into their own hand?

Agree with Sajania and yeah, ur right about my situation.. Omer, like it or not there is a huge difference between marrying a non-Pakistani Muslim and marrying a non-Muslim and I do think a lot of families see that nowadays.. The ones who have a problem with it seem to be getting fewer and fewer as time goes by and inshAllah by the time my kids grow up I reckon it'll even become acceptable for desi kids to marry black Muslim men and women.. Amongst my parents friends literally every family now has at least one kid married to a non-Pakistani (more often it's a daughter) and whilst it still isn't totally accepted by Pakistanis as a whole it's nowhere near the massive taboo it used to be.. esp in big cities like London..

Re: Why Paki girls don't take matters into their own hand?

I do think that Omer brings up a good point. Sure there are plenty of GOOD reasons girls don't stand up to their parents and take control of their lives/fate. But how long are we going to let those reasons control our lives? How long are we going to let "martyr" be our life goal? When we do this, we start relying on our children to bring us happiness because we couldn't go find it ourselves. And that's when all the generational tensions and MIL DIL issues start, because women feel they would rather live vicariously through others, rather than seek satisfaction in their own lives. Anyway, it's not an easy change that needs to occur, but it will have to occur.

Re: Why Paki girls don't take matters into their own hand?

True. Not to forget, that when she does take matters in her own hands to find happiness for herself, she's one of the selfish, wannabe successful women who don't care about having a family.

Re: Why Paki girls don't take matters into their own hand?

Marrying a non-Pakistani Muslim is no longer a big deal where I live. Unless you're from some gaoon that believes in marrying ONLY in your specific caste and marrying out will render your bloodline impure...people are moving past this nowadays.
