And this includes all the groups who dominate Pakhtun politics including Islamists (JUIF etc), and nationalists + socialists (ANP etc.)
FATA should have been civilized and brought to the modern era back in the 50s. The fact is that when you change tribal culture to civilized modern culture, then you have to use both stick and carrot.
However the use of stick by the Federal government was always resisted by Pakhtuns. Thus only carrots have been used in the form of free electricity in FATA, billions of rupees as bribes to Khans and Maliks and other warlords. This bribe and corruption has totally destroyed legal industry in FATA. Arms bazars, warlordism etc. are considered the real Pakhtun culture.
At this moment, our soldiers are sacrificing their blood to get FATA out of the draconian hands of warlordism and tribalism.
At this moment our soldiers need our full support. But instead! many Islamists and Pakhutn nationalists are hell bent on creating the boogeyman of Pakhtunistan.
Learn baba learn. At least learn from Afghanistan. The tribal culture in Afghanistan never allowed a strong law enforcement agencies. The result has been horrible for poor Afghanis. As they never had strong law enforcement agencies of their own, they have been ruled and occupied by every Tom and Dick.
Afsos sad Afsos, that many in Pakistan still want to cling on and hold on to old tribalism.
I mean the more we have become similar to Afghans, the more our areas are looking like Afghanistan. Bombed out schools, destroyed bridges, and senseless killing by the warlords.
Supporting anti-state activities and warlords is not being pro-Pakhutns. This in fact being anti-Pakhtun in the worst possible way.
Will we learn from the fate of Afghanistan?
