I agree with hk! Wats the big fuss over here??
Helo mature ppl?
and By the By... Miss ever heard of "cultural Borrowing" thats one way cultures grow over a period of hundreds of years. In a Country/Nation/People's life.. a mere 'red-dot' in decades years means nothing!. Cultures are not gifted and alloted to us by God, they grow over time. Although "Common Sense" IS alloted. Seems you were busy nit-pikin on something else when that was goin on!!
and LAST but NOT the least, instead of this ...un-important attitude that u show by ur statment, ill have u inform that pakistani girls are the HOTTEST stuff all over the world, and waaaay more ppl are aware, proud and in 'awe'(non-pakis) of this fact than u think!
Paki chiks are so much better than those 95% if the time kalii indians, so if u must have an attitude about Pakistani girls have this!

We definitely need a big change in our education system, we must emphasize on Mannerism from the early classes, we need Islamic education school along with just reading Quran with translation.
Indian channels should be blocked, as they are spreading their religion in our homes, today small kids knows more than elders about raam and geeta , shame on those parents who don’t even know what they are giving to their kids. The most influential media of culprit is dish culture, I remember when I was kid in early 80’s girls were used to wear Burqa or at least they used hijaab and shawls, but now I guess new generation have no idea what Burqa is, I don’t blame to these kids, but their parents!
We all have to answer on the day of judgment, there is no way to escape, please try to implement Islam in our lives, we have to answer about our relatives too, our sister, daughters, wives and mothers are our responsibility, we must keep on telling them what they are doing wrong, if we can control our home, then we can think for others, else it is useless to debate!
Girls living in North America are also suppose to follow the same thing, they must wear clothes as their body parts shouldn’t be seen, life is short, we never know when our time will be over, be ready always, at least we must try to die in the ‘eemaan’!
Allah ham sab ko hidayat day aamin !
It's always been very hard to say " I was wrong ! "
But is never too late to Say " I am sorry "

Ata...
if our Pakistanis feel ok watching indian films
then our actresses have no reason to not to
to dress up as indians.

OH LORD! It was about the bindiya… the red dot and cutltural impression, since when did it turn to obescenity , her clothes and islamic values.
we as humans have to make an intentional effort to not b so impulsive all the time
Hold a conversation to wat it supposed to be held to!
Govt this Govt that..Blah blah blah..
and by the by.. “Basant” is a VERY buteeful , exciting and romantic borrowing from the indian culture! Admit it! iM proudo of the fact that Pakistani ppl esp punjabis borrowed basant from india!. Those of you dead-hearted who don’t like it. & complain complain complain… well letc WAT U CAN DO ABOUT IT.
I Like it and i celebrate it im actully gonna make a trip across atlantic this Feb to have som fun in the city of LAHORE my man.. yea baby
http://www3.pak.org/gupshup/smilies/smile.gif
u hate basant? then u can’t possibly be a great upholder of culture!. You want to bind culture to ur whims and desires.. well let c u do that.
eddie@toronto
Sir, looks like you need a lesson in history.
Bassant is cultural festival for punjabis
which has been celebrated in punjab for hundreds of years. It has nothing do with
India or Pakistan.
When the time for cutting the crops came in Punjab, punjabi farmers both Muslims and Sikhs celebrated by dancing, beating dhols and flying kites.
No where in india such event was held except for punjab. Now in punjab there were also Muslims along with sikhs. After the partition, Pakistan got the heart of Punjab, Lahore.
Bassant isn't something that Pakistani punjabis borrowed from India, it is more of cultural a event which punjabis have clebrating for a more than a century now.

bindis are getting fashionable in Pakistan.
I mean, we have mehndis, we decorate using flowers the same way hindus do, we wear saris/ghagras, we eat the same food, we wear payals, we wear choorian, etc.
These are material things, and we give meaning to them if we want to. They have no inherent meaning to them, so please - its fashion and art - and lets enjoy it as just that.
And so what if Resham played the role of a hindu girl in a Pakistani movie - its a role - and why shouldn't there be roles about hindus in our movies/dramas? I mean, there are pakistani hindus also...
ATA - are u telling me that this negative influence from Indian culture via media, etc is only corrupting women and not men?
Please, I see more boys here where I live acting like Indian heroes, than I see girls trying to act like hindus!
In fact, girls tend to retain more of the cultural conservatism than boys in Pakistani culture. BOYS are the ones who are allowed to roam around on the streets at night doing awara gardi and some go so far as to be with women out of wedlock. Us girls sit at home at night! Girls are the ones that are accompanied everywhere in our culture as if we can't be trusted to do anything on our own, and guys are off everywhere doing anything they want to do - with no parental supervision.
Please, dont get sexist and blame women for becoming corrupted by Indian media. If you're seeing more women working and wearing western clothes and giving up the burqa - then that isn't because of the Indian impact alone - women were giving up the burqa back in the 60's and 70's!
And who the hell says that Islamic women must wear burqas?? I dont see jeans and shirts as being unIslamic! What matters is what is in your heart. And THAT muslim men seem to forget when they criticize their fellow muslim women on becoming Unislamic!
Because the alternative is the ghastly burkha. WHo the hell wants to see a model in that? It defeats the purpose.
welll even after coming to united states almost everyone has changed themselves :~) so what the heck why not change in to indians :~)
some women are desperate to get attention

Since this thread discusses important cultural issues, so it is now moved from Image Gallery to Culture Forum. Please post all further responses there.
Thank you.

don't make assumptions from anything ok
this debate is for both girls and boys, do not make blocks here, boys could be more worst than girls, but within this thread we were discussing about girls's dresses,
you can do what ever you want to , you don't have to listen me, do what you think is good for you, wear jeans or not wear I don't care for you,
now you don't have to answer me here bye!

The Nut, and yes a male from the very species you despise.
Jitna Diya Sarkar Nay Mujko, Itni Meri Auqat Nahi, Yeh Saab Tumhara Karam Hai Aqa, Mujh Mein Aisi Koi Baat Nahin.
It is difficult to say what is impossible, for the dream of yesterday is the hope of today and the reality of tomorrow.

pakistanis have more "hindu" genes in their
blood than let us say many indians .
