**Why our AUTO RICKCHAW noisy and spread pollution
**I never understand why our IG police department fails to take check those AUTO RICKCHAW that very noisy and spreading pollution which is dangerous for all.
Second thing I want to add why our auto Rickshaw never pick passenger on actual meter reading but always pick passenger on more than double fare ( bargain fare ) and no authority is taking a serious notice and remain silence. Only the middle class people suffer by paying the more than double fare but the higher class never thinks to travel in such auto RICKCHAW.
When ever I visited Bombay – India than I used to travel in auto Rickshaw those pick passenger on the actual fare and not additional amount charged why not such type of practice introduce in Karachi.
The Auto Rickshaw driver always argue due to high gas prices we are force to charge this fare and even pay the rent of auto rickshaw on daily basis. This argument is totally baseless and if our police department sincere than no one can charge more than actual fare.

Well technically speaking a Rickshaw is better than most vehicles becuase it does not emmit anything like the pollutant gasses from say an SUV or car.
However I guess noise pollution is probbably more than other vehilces.
I understand what your saying about the dodgy fares though but thats not exactly pollution thats just corrupt mentality. Again it’s the problem here is not the vehicle but the driver, laws need to be enforced but Pakistan Police is a joke becuase like the corrupt drivers most officers are corrupt too…

Karachi rickshaws are the most nosiest in Pakistan - without any silencers. I remember once the Government tried to impose controls circa 1997 all the Karachi rickshaws gathered on I I Chundrigur Road and blocked it protest!

Well in Lahore you'll see that most of the ****ty polluting rickshaws have been replaced by the newer, less noisier and less polluting CNG rickshaws which I think is great. Eventually the old rickshaw will be phased out completely. The only problem is rickshaw drivers don't know how to drive and are always getting in your way.
