Creation of Pakistan was a pain in stomach for some who expected this new born will due to little resources, non availability of infrastructure or flood of refugees will automatically die in six months or a year. ALLAH the GREAT kept it and let it flourish. These devil forces later realized till there were Pakistan Army and judiciary their evil desires can not see their dreams come true so late 1960s under a deep strategy hate campaign against Pak Army was started. Separation of East Pakistan was one such step to defame the Army. It can be understood from the fact that slogans are raised that it was a marvelous achievement of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto getting release of 90,000 prisoners. But no one tells that these 90,000 were not all from army but almost half comprised civil prisons like PIA staff, civilian families etc. Secondly no one has the honesty to say that since these 90,000 were a huge burden on Indians hence India was more than eager to get them realized but Bhutto who himself was the main player making these prisoners did not want their early release for political gains. This tendency kept on and unfortunately still is going on. Then realizing judiciary also comes to the rescue of people and the State hate against this second organ started and in the world history first ever arrest of a judge from within the court was made. Unfortunately the subsequent rulers played somewhat a little more role to keep these tendencies alive. Through local and foreign media and statements image of these two state organs was tarnished not knowing these two institutions were the most important pillars of the country. I quite agree that some individual from these two organs might or must have done something individually wrong but those acts, if any, were blown out of proportion wrongly trying to give an impression if those were institutional wrongs.
A lot of propaganda is made that a huge is unnecessary being wasted on keeping a large army. When true patriotic Pakistanis say that armed forces personnel sacrifice their own lives fighting at borders and put their lives at risk remaining at dangerous points like Siachin glaciers, the argument is countered that for these troubles these people are paid for.
These voices hate seeing army personnel in civil and make it a point of so called democracy. According to them civil administration was the domain of civil. During recent earthquake it is now on record that whole of civil administration in Azad Kashmir proved worthless. In fact in the words of Azad Kashmir Prime Minister his Secretariat, President Secretariat collapsed and staff ran away to their villages to attend to their families. The civil Doctors ran away. There was no “administration” at all till Army reached there.
Civil Administration, may it be a junior clerk or a Fire officer, all are under oath to serve the nation in emergency. They are under oath in case of any extreme emergency like earthquake to immediately report at their duty place even without being told because they are required to do their jobs in such emergencies for which they are “paid”. All of them ran away. Of course on hearing huge damage to help their own families.
On the other hand there is a large section of personnel in the army who belonged to NWFP and Azad Kashmir. They also heard about this big earthquake. Being loving fathers and sons they too were worried about their families back home but not a single of them ran away from place of duty to help their families. A Jawan belonging to Bagh area knowing well Bagh is 80% destroyed was working with rescue team at Neelam valley leaving his Bagh resident family on ALLAH. When in war we fear bombing on our homes these Jawans at that time fight on borders despite knowing back in city/village their families were also potential target of enemy bombs.
I wonder, though belated, why should not advantage of the opportunity be taken and a serious attention on this point is given to boost the already good image of army and to make ineffective as much as possible wrong propaganda. The image which has now been created by the hard work of Army in these areas despite their own injuries and damage, I feel must be preserved so that ordinary man could know worth of articles written by like Satribune. Najam Shethi, Khalid Hassan, Ayaz Amir and alike a small particular of dust in Pak Army becomes visible to them but even bigger stones of others remain due to their sweet ignorance remain invisible from their eyes. Excellency this is time we concentrate on this.
