For the last couple of days, when i get any PM, i don’t get any notifications. Why so!?

u mean notifications via email or on gs itself?
have u checked your settings? is the option enabled?

On GS itself. I used to get notifications before, but for the last couple of days, I am not getting notification on GS, though I haven't touched the settings at all.

ok check your setting again....make sure it is enabled plus check that your inbox isnot full.

in fact I wanted to ask Pinky this very question. When did it stop happening for her as after the recent update that happened probably almost 8-10 months ago, that feature was long gone.

no. its still there.
when someone quotes me or when someone pms me i always get this small pop-up window notification to notify me of the message.

That means, now no more notifications!? How come! I used to get them, it stopped only 3-4 days before.

under Setting > general setting > message & Notification - make sure that this option is on

- Show New Private Message Notification Pop-up

May be by mistakenly you have block pop up ? Just check Tools --> Pop-up blocker --
