I’ve been scratching my head like mad since I’m back from the salon (been a week now)…what’s causing it?

On a serious note, you may be allergic to something they used. (check your scalp for red skin itchy spots-weals)

Try some anti allergy meds. Simple one. If that does not work, have your skin checked by dermatologist. If skin is too dry, then use some oily stuff. Avoid soap or any chemical for a while. Fungal infection is another reason for itchy scalp.

Did you get your hair dyed at the Salon?

Moisturize the scalp by applying olive oil or mayonnaise...otherwise consult a dermatologist, he would recommend some anti-allergic tablet to get rid of the itching.

I went for a haircut. I was thinking it might be nits.

diwana , I don't have any red spots in my head, but lately I've noticed lots of dandruff.

Try selenium sulfide shampoo. It may not be related to your recent haircut, just coincidence.

dandruff don't cause itch......it might be an allergy.....

I forgot to add it gets worse at bedtime.

just change ur shampoo n buy a shampoo only made for itchy head...i had the same n same prblm n i just searched out for a nice shampoo...now im using a brand called 'ALPACIN' german made n it is specific for itching problems as it has gylicirine n some oils in it..it is fragrance free n i use it every 2nd or 3rd day...since then my head is in rest...:)..

^you're right, it might be the shampoo, it's from Bodyshop, never used it before.
