According the comments it came from the sweater, not the cell phone.

main reason is static current, which could be caused by any thing. . eg walking on carpet. . . using cellfone is one of the reasons

Comments or no comments, the way she’s rubbing her sweater before touching the nozzle again is more likely the cause of the static electricity.

Long time ago I saw a news reel on TV where they proved that use of cell phone can never cause a fire at gas station/petrol pump.
It is an urban legend.

Again it looks like spark created by static electricity created by his clothes resulted in it. Cell phone does not create any kind of spark.

but static current discharges as soon as u come in contact with a nuteral body etc metals. So any static electric should have discharged by his touching the metal stairs while climbing and the opening the lid. :wink:
