theres plenty of Muslim men philosophers, lekin you should remember theres a big time difference between Rumi and Iqbal.
As you know Nargis weeps for her lack of noor for thousands of years. It is with great difficulty that something worth seeing is born in the garden.

I'm not sure about romi, but Iqbal was not a philosopher. He was a poet, Many people like him, But many don't. Like I remember an interview of Ahmad Faraz, the leading figure in Urdu poetry these days that, That Iqbal carries too much load which isn't good to live in the modern world.

Good thread however, people started loosing the actual theme and started fighteing over personalities.... LOL
The reason is simple. Today, we are away from what we stand for, we have lost our identity, psychologically we ahev surrendered to all sorts of foreign and alien ideas. We have started acquiring technical knowledge which can make us a good laborer. If you are a high level laborer, you are called professional like doctor and engineer and if low level, you are called a technilogist. There is no difference betwen the two. Both give us knowledge which makes us productive in terms of material.
What about the knowledge which builds the character of a person, which leads to the intellectual maturation and attainment of highest levels of moral and ethical standards?
What our kids have in hands today? Video games, stupid hobbies and inaaproariate knowledge from which they are unable to derive any sound conclusion?
What about the educational system which is so deteriorated and messed up that it cannot lead to the development and sharpening of intelect in any person. What about the acquisition of the knowledge of Quran, Hadith, Fiqh, humanistic sciences etc????
Who cares? we are so ignorant to confound different things and then complain about the conglomerulate mess in society which is all our self created.....
What a mess, what a mess we have created in our lives.....

Since the Muslim Women stopped producing them. Our Muslim mothers and sisters are too busy to watch Movies and Musicals.
