i don't understand the big deal behind matte eyeshadows, they always looks too powdery and chalky even the expensive urban decay and mac ones especially in neutral colors. am i not applying them correctly?? it's not that i only apply glitter eyeshadow but just a slight shimmer or frost makes eyes looks awake and bright. also i was wondering that if i am using one matter eyeshadow as an all over lid color can i apply shimmer/frost/glitter shadow as a outer corner or brow bone?? or does the whole look has to be matter?
The big deal is that matte eyeshadows look good in flash photography and not greasy or too-sparkly the way shimmery or metallic eyeshadows often do. Also, if you are wearing shimmery, metallic or bold colors on your eyelid, it's best to use a matte shade to highlight the brow-bone, and vice-versa.
