I would find it unacceptable if a white person treated me unfavorably compared to another white person just because the latter is a Christian and I am not. So I told you I would treat a good person good and a bad person how he or she is meant to be treated.

if you ar5e talking about mistreating another human then Islam does respect other religions...that's the reason why we have this verse in Qur'aan:
"lakum deenakum, waliya deen..." [for you your religions and for me mine]
it comes under Huquuq ul 'Ibaad [rights of humans]...we must treat everyone equally with respect irrespective of their caste, creed, color, religion, ethnicity...PERIOD! :)

The point I was getting at i.e. what matters is we treat everyone equally regardless of whoever their God is based on their actions. :D

Obviously we can apply it on anyone.
I was pointing out to the fact that two fraudulent cheats are in no way better than two normal nice people just because the former is married and the latter is not.

See we're here on GS where mostly users are Muslim so even if the topic doesn't say anything "In Islam Only" but being a Muslim it's natural we reply with a religious perspective.

Most users are Muslims but with various levels of belief hence the reason for such debates.
When people in the world stop being racist and treat people on who they are and not what they are this world may, just may make progress.

i think reason why you marry varies from person to person, you cant blame anyone for that.there is no right or wrong reason for it, somebody mentioned FOR FRIENDSHIP, SERVING/HELPING PARENTS etc, can be justified as well, so dont bash off the poor soul, people marry for canadian/US citizenships, neevr saw anyone complaining then...
So reason for getting married is way too personal and that reason can never be generalized and agreed upon by everyone alse.
