I don't think there's anything that you should be scared of. Marriage is all about compromises and as you sait, it's not a smooth sailing. There are ups and downs and the best way to deal with them is to face them and try to solve them, rather than being chickened out and decide not to marry at all. That's not a solution in my opinion. If I am facing problems in my marriage, I will not ignore or go to a counselor or come on gupshup and ask for advice, I would directly talk to my wife and solve the issues.
