Who decides what the truth is? Is Javed Ghamdi saying the truth? or are killers of Salman Taseer saying the truth?
Every Muslim has a different version of the truth. Every Muslim is standing up for his own version of truth. Muslims killed have each other since centuries for version control of the truth.
There are extremist factors in all religions and nations, our situation has just been aggravated - all these Muslims with minor differences were living in this same country in peace for many years before this war on terror instigated... still that's not a reason enough to give up on your country is it?

I agree there are minor differences, but that doesnt mean Muslims should kill each other and throw people out of their own country.

Your CONSCIENCE tells you what is right and what is wrong .. you dont have to follow other people footsteps or get influenced by them!! and these cowards/extremists who think they are on right track .. they know deep down in their heart (if they have one) that they are not!! they are not lovers of Prophet .. its their ego and ignorance which is making them do such low things!
**i think its easier to write an article than actually living in the hell. in a foreign land WE as desis aren't like the goras are. we have stability with morals here. i also think in india and pakistan drugs and alcohol use/abuse is rampant, if NOT as rampant as it is in the west. i wud rather live in peace and contribute to society in a foreign land than live in a hell-hole and not be able to contribute at all. besides, who has the strength or resolve to waste his/her energy fighting the menace, the corruption which is the way of life for the commoner as well as the elite. shame on US!
PS: i wunder if the author of this article wrote it sitting in his cozy room in a foreign land.

I would never call my country a hell-hole! It's a blessing and their are many places with worse conditions, look at Cuba for instance.

It’s not all that bad for the optimistically realistic Pakistanis though

I bet the guy who wrote this piece comes from the privileged class which is only a couple of percentages of Pak population. Yes, for people like him Pak is really "not all that bad". Where else would they be able to use their connections in thana to pick anyone they want and give them chhitrol. Where else would they be able to get billions of rupees of free "loan". I can go and on like this for hours.
But ask those poor and middle class people in Pakistan. Ask them how they feel like when their dreams and their parents' hopes are shattered when they can not find any job. Ask these people when they decided to kill themselves along with their family due to poverty. Again, I can go on and on like this for hours.
Living in Pakistan may not be "that bad" for such people, but if you ask majority of Pakistanis they will say that they want to go out of the country asap.

I agree that it is not easy being poor in Pakistan, but quite frankly, it's not easy being poor anywhere in the developing world. Anyway, I think it's great how the author doesn't let the grave situation in Pakistan darken his/her desire to bring change. Being negative is not the answer here.
Majority Pakistanis would move out but would anyone take them? NO. Only Pakistan will take them, and that's why it's their and our responsibility to make Pakistan a better place.
