i belive it was because he declined to take security, saying pakistan is his home and the people are his countrys and he doesnt need any security.
next day he got murdered.

It was an afghan who killed him [who got killed by a "guard" who was again killed by a guard?]. I think it is like the JFK mystery [prolly less researched than JFK]. Officially, US govt line is on the one guy who killed JFK but some critics said that it was a deeper affair with actors ranging from our CIA to drug mafia.

^^ i think they guy who ordered to kill him on the spot was idiot when he was already captured by people srounding him. that kept a secret die down with that person making investigation endless.
I think the only motive to kill such sincere people, only and only by feudals and corrupt bureaucrates who werent getting good deal while a honest PM in place.
loosing Jinnah and Liaqat Ali khan for nascent state of Pakistan was first big blow of downturn of this republic and this leadership vccum gave way to feudals and others corrupt people to create mess again and again of Pakistan democracy.
where can you find a PM when murdered was wearing dress(sherwani) that was repaired and had a patchwork?? can you expect from todays looters? the Svile Row london suits is only good for them!

The article says he was left alone by all his fellow muslim league leaders and after his death none was sorrow and almost everyone was caring about the chairs.

Not only that but Liaqat's poor widow did not have a house of her own when he was assassinated....Those leaders were really selfless and honest god-fearing people

The most vocal opponents of Liaqat were Jamaat Islami and their mouth peice Nawai Waqt editorials. Their were others too that considered Liaqat as not aggresive enough against India regarding Kashmir and wanted a Jihad over Kashmir against India. These included West Pakistan military and bureaucaracy officers and were mostly Punjabis and Pathans that were aggresive and passionate about the Kashmir issue. The Rawalpindi cospiracy case by general Akbar and other military leaders is an example. We will never know but the most likely suspects for his murder were Ghulam Muhammad, Askandar Mirza, Mushtaq Gormani and Ayub Khan.
