Kashmir just passed through one of the difficult tests lately and it has come to an end.The normaly has reurned to kashmir.
Even after two decades long militancy ,the issue is almost Nil Internationalised :). Why is it so? Kashmir never became a central point of Pan insurgent activities like Iraq or Afghanistan .Kahmir terrorists/insurgents could never mount or endure a fight like the rebels in Chechnya.Barring Pak or Afghan nationals no foreign fighter has been reportedly captured or killed or even spotted in Kashmir.
(I remember more than 8 years ago on G.S,(in 2002) when both India and Pakistan were believed to have been sharpening their defence lines ,for a possible war,the Guppies here especially, had dared to say that Kashmir was going to secede from India).
Is it because India’s strong image that keeps the international community away from it?
Is it because of the Indian Defence Forces who could crush the spinal chord of insurgency in kashmir?
or Pakistan was in it’s own problems atleast in the later half of the first decade of the 21st century ,to make it incpable of focussing in Kashmir?
Or Mr.Musharaff had almost totally made the insurgents sterile?
Or is it because of the fact that India could always broadcast an image of a defender from the agressions of Pakistan?
Your point about india being powerful and pakistan govt being corrupt is absolutely right.
But way the wars are fight in muslim countries still could have resolved the issue but there are 2 hurdles.
1-kashmirs are very passive by nature.
2-There is a river in between kashmir and Indian occupied Kashmir, out of 10 militants who try to cross it only 2-3 can actually cross it.
Some get killed by indian forces some come back. If there was a wide land link , as pak/afghanistan,
Kashmir would not be occupied by now.

Further more what do you think of Pakistan? Its not always easy to judge from what NEWS says about the "democratic government" and what the defense system is about.

There is no reason for 'international community' to get involved. We, the Pakistanis, should remember that the 'international community' is not a charitable organization. Every country (except maybe ours) only looks at its own strategic interests before deciding whether to get involved in a conflict. There is no reason (or oil) for countries to push for a resolution of Kashmir issue.
Besides, some countries make a lot of money selling arms to both Pakistan and India. They would just want the issue to simmer and not boil over.

I Suggest Better To Give This Freedom To All Kashmirs But Before This !! Let Whoever Take Care Of Kashmir Bring All Kashmirs Who Spread Across The Nation On Pretext Of Job, Business And Studies !!
Actually, ar-litter might actually accept that, for his great police force once captured a pigeon and accused it of spying for Pakistan. But Indians are smart, they also put up credible evidence by suggesting that such khoobsurat and white pigeons arent native to the Indian side of the border
