Neither BB, and now Zardari have made a big issue about demanding that Aitizaz Ahsan be released from ‘house arrest’?
Apart from lip service, why have PPP leaders not really fought for Aitizaz Ahsan?

Maybe BB and Zardari believe that Aitizaz Ahsan should be locked up for his past misdeeds including appointing convicted murderers and corrupt party cronies as judges. :)

He just likes to make up the stories as he goes along. No minster can appoint a judge only the president can do that. The story about him appointing judges was published by PML-Q which has apologized for false advertisements in the newspapers.

It appears that way. BB did not, and Zardari does not care about what happens to Aitizaz Ahsan. They only cared about themselves leading PPP, and making deals with the alleged dictator. :)

The very first thing Zardari did when he arrived in lahore yesterdaybwas to meet Aitzaz and discuss party affairs.. he has always been outspoken for Aitzaz.. dont assume things you like...

LAHORE: PPP Co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari called on detained Supreme Court Bar Association President Ch Aitzaz Ahsan at his Zaman Park residence on Tuesday evening.
Briefing journalists on the meeting which lasted for 15 minutes, Bushra Aitzaz, the wife of Aitzaz Ahsan, said her husband had offered condolence to Zardari on Ms Bhutto’s death and also offered Fateha for her. She said her husband wanted to go to Naudero after Ms Bhutto’s assassination, but the authorities had refused to give him the permission. “After his release from house arrest, he was scheduled to fly to Sukkur from where he wanted to proceed to Naudero. But he was arrested at the airport and put under house arrest again,” she added.
“Since all his efforts to reach Naudero failed, Zardari called him after his arrival in Lahore. It is the first meeting between the two leading figures of the PPP after Ms Bhutto’s assassination, so there was no other agenda of the meeting,” she said, adding that Zardari had expressed his feelings for Aitzaz’s role. Asked whether there were any indications from Asif Zardari on Aitzaz’s future role in the party, Bushra said there was no such conversation.

Meeting people that are under house arrest and paying lip service to the cause is one thing. Asking for and campaigning for their immediate release is another.
The reality is PPP leadership of Zaradari (and formerly of BB) do not want Aitizaz putting spanner in the works when dealing with President Musharaf. They are happy for Aitizaz Ahsan to be in the background and in House Arrest until the elections are well out of the way, and wheelings and dealings complete.

Aalsi you are becoming very realistic...Aitzaz is campaigining for effective judiciary...in my opinion the real solution to our problems...
However both the illegal prsident and Mr. Zardari do not want an effective judiciary...as they do not want to jeopardize their future corruption plans...they have been negotiating for such long time...
You think Mr. Aitazaz will stay under house arrest until after the elections...in my opinion he will stay arrested as long as Zardari/Musharraf cooruption partnership will last...long after the election...until both of them stay in power...wheelings and dealings are already complete...execution of loot maar is what they are planning for next few years...

This is contrary to the stand of Aitzaz Ahsan...but really something which does not suit Zardari...as he desperately needs NRO...something the PCO affected judges will never allow...
