This is just unbelievable. I’m doing my business in the bathroom and I get yelled at again today for doing it while standing up. Now I make sure it doesn’t touch anything and I never leave a mess but just because they can “HEAR” the sound it’s the biggest issue ever. Islam, in my opinion has nothing to do with using the bathroom while standing up. I’ve had this problem before and it went down the drain while back but now it’s a hot topic again and I was told strictly not to ever do it again when I’m 100% sure it’s safer. Especially when it’s done in a 45 degree angle because it’s like pouring water in a empty cup using the sides.
Why can’t we men live in peace and harmony. Does any one else have this problem and if so how the heck did you resolve it?

:)...I think mainly the concern is....splashing the clothes with tiny droplets...
so it is OK to stand and relieve u r self when there is no danger of splash back onto your clothing........like in sand...
I really doubt that though because I've tested it myself. Now if you're moving all around and jumping up and down you'll have a chance of getting it on your clothes but other than that, no way. Sitting down has it's down fall too because you're so close to the toilet, anything can splash outwards from the V shaped gap that you create with your legs. Am I right or wrong?
Yes and the area splashed thus is also usually washed during wazo…
another hazard of standing and taking leak is…and mind you I quote an actual incedence in US where this Person was making sure no drops remained and all was expelled…
someone Westerner standing next to him turned him in for playing with himself on the Job Premisis…
So this person had to explain the fact to his supervisor that he was only trying to dry himself and not playing…if you know what I mean…

It comes from Sunna of Rasool Allah(SAW) . Most of the time he relieved himself sitting down. Mind you he was a shy person so sitting down was the best position for a shy person as there were bathrooms in those days.
But he relieved himself standing up also when he feared that his clothes will get dirty if he relieved himself standing up. In Indo Pak the most common myth is that the only Islamic way to pee for man is to do it sitting down but it is just a myth. You can do it sitting down or standing up , any way you want , as long as you are sure that it will not dirty up your clothes. I agree to you that on a commode if you urinate sitting down there is more chance of splash on your bottom then if you do it standing up. When it comes to saving your clothes from splashes of urine there are more details to it.
