Whenever am about to stand on the prayer rug or have begun praying, my heart beat begans to beat fast. why does this happens? No matter how hard I try to pay attention towards praying I just can’t focus.

Namaz is a union between the creator and the creation. Just imagine that God is within you and all around you. Shut-off the world and the thoughts in your head, get carried away ... Drown in love.

maybe try not praying as if you can see Allah, but try praying as if Allah can see you and is watching your every move.
Try praying as if each Salah is ur last.

Brother I think it's nothing serious.
I used to get that sensation and sometimes even swayed a little when praying. It used to happen when I was a teen, I guess it's just a time when your physics are most sensitive.
I pray you feel better and come to enjoy your Namaaz.
I advise you take a bath in cold water before Namaaz as it can help relax you first as well as cleanse and revitalise you for your suplication to Allah... though if your living in a cold climate it might not be worth the risk of getting a cold... best use warmer water in wintry weather.
