The social context has changed since the days when women were considered war loot and covering up completely was one way of safety. Argue what you like, but in most civilized places, women are NOT under that kind of threat. (Yes, there are always exceptions) But generally speaking, how many guppans seriously fear being raped or kidnapped or even mildly harassed whenever they step out of their house?
Why is a decent salwar kameez with dupatta not modest? Is it really needed for women to cover everything except their hands and face?
