Yes Muqawee, this is the forth incident i heard where a candidate got accepted coz they were the same caste as the hiring manager ! or , got promoted coz the caste was the same as the manager and both had a good rapport with each other ..

I have even heard things like a manager telling to someone else about a certain employee "apna hi hai " ( refering to the same caste )

I surprises me that this level of dedication to caste system is present even in the professional lives of Government employees .. all four incidents I came across were govt employees ..

This phenomenon got more seriousness than just caste. Nepotism is every where. Even the whole missionary (at top level) in government departments changes with the change in government. Votes are obtained on biradri system. People are instigated in the name of provincial identity. Terminologies like Sons of soil and outsiders still in fashion even after passing 6 decades.
