Why is that, if you arrive to office few minutes late, the management would question you *‘why are you late today?’ *but if you leave late the management usually wouldn’t question about that?

People from the previous work shift need you to take over so arrive on time and make them happy so they can go home on time.

professionalism is the first rule of profession. Leaving late might be your choice but reaching on time is only mandatory.

I can tell you in my previous organization,leaving late was considered a bad one.One of the instrumental policies said that leaving late means you did not do the job within the prescribed time!!!(Although they never monitored it so diligently)...
