are we judging her on a personal level or professional? professionally she definitely has potential, i think she was the best 'sila' in the azar ki ayegi barat series, pretty ok in malal and ishq ki inteha too...agree with others that she needs to work with good directors. on a personal level, don't really care to judge her, in the past ppl have been against her based on snippets on her personal life.
I just saw the clip and commented on that, I wasn't being judgemental because I also believe an artist should be judged by their work and not really by their personal life! Anyway, I think she is an OK actress if working under a good director like Mehreen, otherwise below par. As a presenter, she was awful... With fake american accent!
I am sorry but ppl's reaction to that clip cracks me up, esp the part abt it being inappropriate of her to kiss her daiver( begum nawazish ali). if this is normal for her and her family then who the F is anyone to use their own moral yardstick to judge her? also, unlike other tv personalities, at least she isn't a hypocrite pretending to be a naik parsa or smth.
I think the public persona of any artist is made of a mixture of their work AND their personal standing to a certain extent. This is not just a desi phenomena. In America, Mel Gibson was shunned because of his views about the jews, Charlie Sheen lost his contract because of his drug habits. This happened in America (the land of the free). We could say, well these actors can say and do whatever they like in their personal lives. No one should judge them. But every society has certain social norms. Just like in America,where it is socially unacceptable to be anti semitic or openly do drugs, similiarly in a muslim country like Pakistan, it is socially and morally unacceptable ( note, I did not say wrong) to do the stuff shown in that documentary. And ofcourse the public finds it hard to seperate the two, be it american or Pakistani.
Maybe we should not use a moral yardstick to judge an artist, but then we should not use a liberal idealogy to judge the public either....

she was with humayun in both 'ishq gumshada' and 'ishq ki inteha'...'ishq gumshada' was boring as hell, predictable story where humayun marries amina sheikh instead of her. 'ishq ki inteha' was better, where humayun and his father are the mobsters or something.
i think she is fine, but yes agree^i did get tired of seeing her everywhere. Aamina sheikh however, i dont get tired of no matter how many times i see her, she is an amazing actress
