why is it important we muslims protest.

especially against groups such as the ENGLISH DEFENCE LEAGUE ( google and read) who are an extreme right wing group, based on islamaphobia and are a violent bunch, they have marched and slandered/caused mayhem around the uk, and were thankfully stopped in london, due to an antifacist group as well as lots of anti racist groups who came out in full force.

now my uncle says `so what if these people want to march/do whatever let them, ( my uncles very anti-islam for some reason, he blames us muslims for all our problems and not america/isreal etc he has a point actually)

now i say its important we stand against them and show our condemnations…

should we or shouldnt we, is it important to make a fuss ourselves, or should be just ingore these things hoping it wont cause more publicity which is what they want…

and on another topic- are the muslims problems around the world caused by us muslims…? or is it right to blame the west?

Re: why is it important we muslims protest.

Well , there are two points here :

1- Condemning anti Islam forces like EDL : Like everyone its there right to have and say their opinion, Police’s duty to control their violence … and our duty as muslims to condemn such actions through peaceful ways. Perhaps a press conference, or a peaceful March etc etc … Though many of us do say that it shouldnt matter to us what EDL or BNP say or do , they are not the majority. But its important we condemn their racist actions , before their forces grow into something huge.

2- Are our problems caused by us and not by America or any other forces… Yes I hugely believe we are the biggest contributor to our own problems… and we find it easy to blame other forces .. not that other forces are innocent , but they arent as strong to cause havoc to muslims … its us , our character, our believes that are no more islamic , Our man made societies that are leading to the breakdown of the muslim countries. If we were strong enough and true believers and momins , no force in this world could have stopped us from living an honourable , successful lives :sahar02:

Re: why is it important we muslims protest.

What about the Burka ban in France, what have muslims done there for them to ban them?

French are angry these women are not showing their beauty to everyone...and only non-muslim French women are being used as an objects and toys.

I mean, isn't it pathetic and injustice for women to be pretty (or not pretty does not matter) and still hide herself from others?

That is a serious violation of freedom of bird watching!

Well said Guys :lajawab:

Re: why is it important we muslims protest.

I see any excuse for a protest and the anarchist within me wants to be out and about :kursi:

Anyhow we all now know that the Muslims are getting the hard edge these days so typically as a Mussalman it’s not suprising given my acute nature to lash back out… perhaps it’'s not the right thing but for me it’s the easiest thing to do.

And anyhow why not blame the west and it’s allies… it is thier fault 90% of the time :asa:

This statement shows a complete ignorance of France, its culture and history. For the last two hundred years, they have a strict seperation of church and state. The burqa has not been banned in France, but quite rightly can't be worn in their public buildings. Neither can the yamulka or the cross. Its about time you respect other culture, and then they will respect yours.

For your info, when western women visit Islamic countries, they comply with the dress code their. I have lived in Saudi and Jordan, and visited all of them bar Iraq and Sudan. So why don't Muslim women comply with ancient French traditions.

Re: why is it important we muslims protest.

Becuase we have the right not to comply, as do they... and thus wghen non compliance is to be cracked down then hell breaks loose.

Personally i have no problem with French people however it'sn not actually centureis of tradition rather three centuries of Robspierreist thinking that has made the French such a ludicrously anti religous nation.
