Why are cows so popular to sacrifice in pakistan, so much it’s called bakra eid? Are there a shortage of sheep?

It is Baqra Eid , Baqra is and Arabic word which means Cow. The second surah in Quran is Sura Al-Baqra.

Yes so we establish baqra means cow, so why are cows common to sacrifice, in other places, sheep is most commonly sacrificed. What's so special about cows that we call is baqra eid? Can't we call it baa baa eid?

I think that because 7 people can share one cow for qurbani. That makes it cheaper and more viable alternative to offer their sacrifice for people of modest incomes. .

Ease of supply and purchasing power. Cows, comparatively, are cheaper than goats & Sheep (excluding extremely expansive status symbol animals). Also each cow/Camel have 7 shares for Qurbani, whereas goat/sheep has only only one. People/families/friends buy cow as it is cheaper than buying 7 goats/bakras/sheep. This practice allows more people to do qurbani.

Cow is more popular in Sindh than in Punjab.

I came here to post what Mostar95 have posted just before me.. Cow is super famous in Karachi & Hyderabad, very few people go for Bakra here. Bakra is very famous in Punjab side and many people dislike Cow meat in Punjab.
