As most of you non-muslims find Islam to be a opressing religion or a violent or barabaric religion, I’d just like to know why is it that it is the fastest growing religion in the world? In fact, more people started reverting after 9/11, what can be the reason? Now some of you will say that they reproduce faster which might seem like a valid argument in Middle-East and Asia, but then why is it the fastest growing religion in north america?
I’d just like to post this question for all the non-muslim guppies out there to find out their opinions. Please no cheap shots or personal insults, i dont want to see arguments, this isn’t about one muslims beliefs compared to anothers or sects, this is just about Islam growing, don’t stray off the topic please, I’m sure all you are mature enough to understand this.

All of them converted to Islam, were not forced by the gun-points or swords?
They are not illiterates. Those learned Priests know every inch of the Holy Bible. By converting to Islam , they lost respects from our 2 billion followers.
They lost all the excellent privileges [good residential houses , cars, etc] provided by our Churches, and they do not get all these in Islamic Institutions.

Muslims r those who submit their wills to Allah swt, believe in him, his messengers, and the last day, they might not be proper muslims, but they r muslims. We r talking about Islam being fastest growing religion we r not talking about the acts of some muslims or being "pseudo-muslims." Just muslims in general. Allah swt will judge them.

I guess this boast that islam is the fastest growing religion of the world has some truth in it. Muslims belong to the third world. The population in the third world is increasin where as comparatively speaking the first world christain population is on a decline.
Muslims in America and Europe also have a higher rate of population growth as compared to the indigenous white christians.
This explains a huge proportion of this FAST growth. Conversions are happening no doubt, but I am sure Buddhism and Christianity and new age stuff is also gaining strength in some parts of the world.

Good one we will look at the wholistic picture1) Africa, more number of christians missionaries here and hence its a third world country.2) India, Pakistand Bangladesh third world country agreed.3) Europe: Problem Homosexual marriages, and abortion. Leading to the growth of Muslims. Europeans amongst the fastest growth for Islam.4) North America: Homosexual marriages, age old population. Muslims providing the generation gap. Still the fastest growing religion after 9/11 its gone up by 135% amazing. So in this 3 years they are so many muslim intruders in America or Muslim are giving birth to twins, and triplets.But overall I do agree with your points as well as looking at the wholistic picture. The better survey would be how many of them as Adults after 9/11 are reverted to Islam.

Reason 3: Some men who can't live with just one woman find Islaam very convinient, they can marry 3 or 4 women without any outrage from society.
Reason 4: Also some men find it convinient that they can get divorce just by saying talaq 3 times, once they are bored with the woman.

not just that but each school of thought within these MUSLIMS is putting the other sect/school of thought down as invalid. abcd muslims make fun of the "fundos". conservative muslims make fun of the progressive ones. each sect putting down the other sect. so much so that what truly defines "muslim behavior" is blurry. so what is it? quality or quantity. and if its quality....what defines quality?
