Why is immigration still allowed in Europe?

Why do these European countries like UK, France, Spain and Germany keep on letting in immigrants from the Sub Continent, Asia and Africa? What do they have to gain from this? I keep on hearing reports from France about the constant tension between recennt African/Arab immigrants and Local French people. Why does France just stop letting people in?

Re: Why is immigration still allowed in Europe?

Because they need labor force. Median age in Europe is more than 40. Compare that to median age of Pakistan which is 19. You can easily understand how old Europe is from these two figures.

Without labor force, they couldn't produce and consume and they can't be wealthy countries. Think of a country, most of the population is pensioners and doesn't work. They just need pensioner's salary, health expense but they do produce nothing. This is why most European countries suffer from huge budget deficit.

Every immgirant that comes to Europe, is a retirement ticket for an European. So why the hell are they all nagging about immigrants, one may ask. Because they want to put pressure on immigrants. They know that without pressure, no immgirant will never assimilate. Think that, you enter a new community where everybody is behaving bad because you're sth. different. What will you do ? You will try to look as the locals look. You will try to be like European and will leave your own identity. This is what they want.

Re: Why is immigration still allowed in Europe?

Hmm. Does that mean if immigrants stopped going to Europe, it would become weaker?

Re: Why is immigration still allowed in Europe?

In the long run, yes, it does. However, this doesn’t mean they invite everybody to Europe. They ask for quality immigrants;

  • no religion fanatics
  • ready to accept Euroean values
  • ability to assimilate fast
  • and they want job spesific immigrants. I mean, they need nurses but they don’t need plumbers. (the list goes on…)

They want Eurepean borders to be semi-permeable, some will pass, some will not.

Re: Why is immigration still allowed in Europe?

well, i wouldn't say immigration in general...just immigration from certain communities

Re: Why is immigration still allowed in Europe?

Immigrants = cheap labour, they generate money because they purchase goods and need housing, transport, etc

So the advantages outway the disadvantages, they can harp on about oh we have too many immigrants but their actions don't match their words, there words are only to please the host populations.
