Because they have to after losing every 10-15 matches otherwise ICC will strip india of the ODI status.

bcoz when sehwag left there were still 2 batsmen around who kept on hitting the lankans all over the park ...... and they were positive ..... took risks and it paid off ...... Tendi's form ..... and last but not least Lankans were shell-shocked to say the least

Cuz Indians attacked from the very first ball and introduced Pathan as surprise factor who dismantled the Lankans' confidence if they had any. Lankans were prolly thinking of a easy ride with Dravid being the only reliable/inform batsman. Hats off to Tendi/Pathan/Dravid. I hope they won't continue their form against Pakistan :p

Anyway what I liked most about this ODI was the way Sachin batted. His first fifity clearly showed the sign of Sachin of 3-4 years back. He was not afraid to use his feet and take some chances. This is what brought success to him and this is how he should play. Someone put keera of being Gavaskar in his head and he restricted himself for last 2 years. I hope he continues to play agressive. Looks like Chappel is having some serious talk with him. Or may be kick on Ganguly's butt might have woken him up too.

I think Sachin was out plumb LBW when he was in his 30's to Vaas. The home umpire moved away to the right way too early and was not even ready for the appeal. One action replay showed the ball had pitched in line and hit Sachin below the knee roll and would have uprooted middle.
But that's not to take anything away from his innings. He did look in attacking mode and played well apart from that one niggle and also an inside edge to Vaas was dropped by Sangakkara when he was in 20s.

Yep, indeed. His head kept moving sideways throughout Indian innings. Like a typical Madraasi. As if he wasn't even anticipating an LBW against Sachin. So impressed he was.

It’s called compensation. Besides wouldn’t you take a Sachin over Yuvraj anyday
